About Us
The Service
Brownbill Associates Ltd provides a specialist case management service primarily for individuals who have been affected by brain injury, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, complex orthopaedic injuries and amputation. We work across the Midlands, London, South East and South West regions.
Our team of professionally qualified, highly motivated and experienced case managers deliver a proactive, client centred and cost effective service to children, young people and adults who have been severely injured. All case managers have a health and social care qualification, for example, occupational therapy, social work, nursing, physiotherapy, clinical psychology, and they are registered with their professional regulatory body, e.g. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMW). When registered with either of these bodies, the case manager has been assessed as meeting their standards for training, professional skills and behaviour.
Our case managers have considerable expertise in assessing client need and with formulating, implementing and monitoring effective interventions to meet those needs and achieve client goals. This often involves assisting with arranging complex packages of care, coordinating rehabilitation and healthcare, procuring specialist equipment and facilitating educational, vocational and leisure opportunities.
The team of case managers at Brownbill Associates Ltd has extensive experience of directly employing care and support staff. We have a rigorous recruitment process, which is followed by all case managers, and a recruitment department that ensures compliance with employment regulations, such as arranging clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formally CRB), coordinating employment references and checking right to work in the UK etc. Direct employment of support workers offers a stable, high quality and bespoke package of care that is instrumental in giving the client the quality of life they want and need. This way of providing care is not suitable for all clients, however, and alternative options can be used such as a care agency.
Our case managers are also experienced at representing clients’ interests with various professionals including legal teams conducting personal injury and clinical negligence claims, medical personnel and statutory and non-statutory agencies.
Brownbill Associates Ltd provides administrative support through our business unit in Thame, Oxfordshire, as well as a 24 hour, seven day a week, all year round crisis helpline.
Our accreditation by the Care Quality Commission endorses our high professional standards around the delivery of care to our clients and we also operate within the guidelines laid down by the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM). It is the policy of Brownbill Associates that our case managers are members of BABICM and they work towards advanced membership status.
We have a proactive approach to monitoring quality assurance for all clients of Brownbill Associates Ltd through regular monitoring visits to clients by our Registered Manager, an annual client survey and a robust complaints procedure.
