Accreditation / Regulation

Brownbill Associates Ltd is governed by the following specific regulations; the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.

These regulations describe the essential standards of quality and safety that people who use health and adult social care services have a right to expect.

Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Brownbill Associates Ltd is accredited and regulated by the Care Quality Commission which monitors the performance and compliance of our service against essential national standards of quality and safety, through the work of their inspectors.

CQC inspectors scrutinise our service at least once per year with an unannounced visit. Inspectors directly observe our work with clients, check our paperwork and records as well as talk to clients, other people using our service, families, carers and case managers.

The Registered Manager coordinates all regulated activities in relation to CQC and can be contacted on the office telephone number which is 01844 212 153 or by email at regmgr@brownbill.com.

The Registered Manager is the person who monitors and facilitates our compliance with the essential national standards on a day to day basis, and to this end they work closely with our case managers and the support workers who work directly with our clients. They also visit our clients at least once per year to ensure they are satisfied with the case management service and the support they are receiving from their support workers who are supervised by the case managers.

Safeguarding people is very important to Brownbill Associates Ltd, and in collaboration with the client’s case manager the Registered Manager is instrumental in implementing our safeguarding policy and acting on any safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding means protecting and caring about people’s health, wellbeing and human rights enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect, and this is fundamental to our service provision.

Those most in need of protection are children, young people, and adults whose circumstances make them vulnerable. All our clients fall into one of these categories.

British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM)

In addition to accreditation by the CQC the majority of our case managers are members of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers, which is one of the two leading professional case management organisations in the UK.

BABICM is a professional association that promotes the development of case management in the field of acquired brain injury and other complex conditions. It has an ethical and professional structure that encourages high standards of practice and promotes education, training and professional development of its members. It has a system of professional standards, quality control and assurance for case managers encompassed in the document entitled Competencies for Case Managers and Standards for Case Management Practice, which Brownbill Associates Ltd fully subscribes to.
