Case Manager Study Day November 2018

Our Clinical Director, Helena Bryant welcomed our case managers to a Study Day at the Brownbill Associates’ offices on 13 November 2018.

There was a packed programme which included the following presentations:

A guide to a Support Worker Induction resource by Helen Ratcliffe.  This resource gives our case managers a framework to work by when carrying out induction for our clients’ support workers to ensure that all aspects of their role are fully explained in terms of mandatory and client specific training requirements, person centred care, support needs assessments, care plans, risk assessments, client confidentiality, record keeping, quality compliance, supervision and practical matters.

A presentation by Sheri Taylor, Specialist Rehab Dietitian: “Are your clients surviving or thriving? Nutrition after a catastrophic injury.”  The lively and informative presentation highlighted the various ways that a catastrophic injury can impact on a client’s diet including weight gain and loss, energy levels, cognitive function, energy levels, gut health, loss of taste and/or smell, tissue viability and effects on the immune system.  More details can be found at  We are grateful to Sheri for providing this excellent insight.

A joint presentation by Clinical Director, Helena Bryant and Registered Manager Ginny Tyler, on Brownbill Associates’ Vision, Values and Quality.  We asked ourselves “What does ‘quality’ really mean for our clients and what are we measuring when we do our quality assurance audit?”  Our vision statement is our plan for where we are going as a company; our hopes and ambitions and what we are striving for so that we can measure our progress and improve the service that we provide for our clients.  Brownbill Associates pride ourselves on putting our clients at the centre of the care we provide and we follow this ethos when supporting our clients.

A presentation by our Registered Manager, Ginny Tyler (pictured) on an introduction to Brownbill Associates’ revised policies and procedures.  It is important that all our case managers, clients and support workers have access to up to date policies that cover all aspects of the service that we provide to our clients and the policies and procedures that should be adhered to and followed.

Brownbill Associates hold regular Study Days which are well attended by our case managers.  We strive to include informative, instructive and useful presentations to enhance our case managers’ knowledge and expertise.
