Five Mile Night Walk for Syrian Refugees

Shabnam Berry Khan, one of our case managers, along with her baby daughter, took part in the Five Mile Night Walk at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London in November 2016, which was organised by Muslim Hands who distribute winter relief to vulnerable communities all over the world.  The “Shine for Syria” campaign raises money to be used to provide warm clothing, food, heating and blankets for the refugees.

Shabnam and her daughter completed the walk on a very cold night.  Her daughter slept for most of the distance but only after Shabnam had carried her for two of the five miles!

Shabnam and her daughter were extremely proud to have raised almost £900 for the cause.  The event as a whole raised over £100K.

Well done to Shabnam and daughter on this wonderful achievement.
