Annette is based in Birmingham and works with clients in and around the Midlands

Experience:

Annette has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS since qualifying in 1997. Gaining early experience in working with people with mental health conditions, she has over 20 years' experience of supporting people with acquired brain injury and additional experience of working with people with other neurological and medical conditions including spinal cord injury. Gaining a Masters’ degree from Birmingham University for her research into returning to employment following brain injury, Annette maintains an interest in vocational rehabilitation and continues to lead the vocational services for brain injury in her part time NHS role. Annette is skilled at liaising and negotiating with various agencies and services to address health, housing, social, employment and care needs. Annette has recent experience working with a variety of clients with complex medical needs, facilitating safe discharge from hospital after being redeployed for six months to work on the medical wards at her local trust. Annette enjoys working with other professionals and has sound experience in supervising and training junior members of staff. Annette enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience and has presented at various conferences and has links with the University of Birmingham. Annette completed the Introductory Practitioners course in Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy at Birmingham University, and is a keen advocate of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness techniques.
